This scholarship, created in honor of Mary Bowman's legacy by ViiV Healthcare and the National AIDS Memorial, is intended to support other accomplished young artivists like her.
This $5,000 award is intended to support one young artivist (27 years of age or younger) each year who exemplifies Mary’s passion for the arts as the vehicle for their own HIV/AIDS community activism and expression.
In addition to submitting an essay, you will be asked to upload the following documents:
- Two letters of support from a teacher, a program coordinator, a supervisor/ally/community leader, or another adult who is familiar with your art and understands its intention and effectiveness as a form of HIV/AIDS/Social Justice activism.
- Three to five examples of your past activist art (.jpg, .doc, .mov, .mp4, or link(s) to video(s)).
Successful recipients of this award will be required to provide a project budget and supporting receipts or other documentation in order for funds to be released.
