The Ford Scholars Program
The Ford Scholars Program offers a comprehensive scholarship to help students succeed in college
and beyond. In addition to a generous financial award, Scholars receive academic guidance, leadership development, personal and professional support, and access to the Ford Family alumni network. Up to 125 renewable scholarships are awarded each year to students from Oregon and Siskiyou County, California.
Be a resident of Oregon or Siskiyou County, California, and meet all residency requirements for college of attendance. Be either: A) A graduating high school senior or high school graduate (or the equivalent) and has never enrolled full time in a 2- or 4-year college, OR B) A community college student ready to transfer as a junior to a 4-year college in the fall, and has not already started full time at a 4-year college. Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 or GED of 660 (2650 for 2002-2013), or will have a counselor, advisor or teacher submit an online Special Recommendation as part of the application process (SATs or ACTs are not required, but are highly recommended). Has a goal of earning a bachelor’s degree (and has not previously earned a bachelor’s degree). Recipient may start at a community college with an intention to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree. Will attend full time, on campus, at a Title IV eligible public or private (nonprofit) college, based in their home state of Oregon or California, beginning in fall of the application year. Residents of Siskiyou County may attend OIT, SOU or KCC if they qualify for in-state tuition. Online college education programs do not qualify. Has no felony convictions or has satisfied the terms of any felony conviction by August 1 of the application year.
