  • Barry Kirkwood Scholarship
    This full-time scholarship is open to potential and current BBCC students. Preference will be given to student majoring in agriculture or a related program of study.
  • Carolyn Nordstrom Scholarship
    Carolyn Nordstrom moved to Battle Creek at the age of one and was very active in this community her entire life. She graduated from Battle Creek Central, then went to Michigan State where she majored in communications. She then came back to Battle Creek and worked for many area businesses before opening her own advertising agency, Hilltop Advertising. This scholarship is intended for graduating seniors from Battle Creek public and private high schools who will be pursuing a degree at Michigan State University, and preference will be given to those majoring in marketing and communications. Candidates should demonstrate potential to succeed in the college curriculum to be pursued. Some financial need may be considered, however it is not a major priority.
  • Crosby Marketing and Media Studies Scholarship
    This scholarship will be awarded to an **Anne Arundel County** graduating high school senior interested in business, marketing or media studies.
  • Richard and Shirley DeRuiter Scholarship Fund for Future Visionaries Scholarship
    This fund was established by the children of Richard and Shirley DeRuiter in recognition of the impact they have had on our community. With a firm belief in the strength and attributes of our community, Rich & Shirley invited the readers of Scene Magazine to travel with them on a journey to learn about the positive side of living and working right here in Battle Creek. They continue to be strong supporters and believers in helping their neighbors and because of that, want to support the youth of our community as they choose to continue their education right here in our community. Eligible candidates are graduates or graduating seniors from any public or private school within the greater Battle Creek area and Marshall area who seek educational opportunities beyond high school related to the publishing field which could include but not be limited to such careers as: communications, graphic design, art, marketing, English, journalism, history, etc. Applicants must attend a post-secondary institution within greater Battle Creek or Marshall and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Considerations are: demonstrate involvement in programs consistent with the nature of the scholarship.
