  • Betty Brennan Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to college students that are interested in **sports media careers**. Each winner receives a $1,000 scholarship, complimentary registration and lodging at **AWSM**’s annual conference and a complimentary one-year membership to the organization.
  • Betty Jolly Scholarship
    The scholarship is open to female college students who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in **Journalism**.
  • Celeste Williams Memorial Scholarship
    The scholarship is open to female college students who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in **Journalism**.
  • James Brown / Frank Folwell Storytelling Scholarship
    The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students studying **photojournalism** and whose portfolio emphasizes storytelling in still pictures or video.
  • Jim Brennan Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to female college students, who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in Journalism.
  • Joyce-Jenks Family Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to female college students who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in **Journalism**.
  • Leah Siegel Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to female college students, who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in Journalism. Each winner also receives a $1,000 scholarship, complimentary registration and lodging at **AWSM**’s annual conference and a complimentary one-year membership to the organization.
  • Mary Garber/APSE Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to female college students who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning and pursuing a degree in **Journalism**.
  • Nathan Hathaway Collegian Scholarship
    A scholarship shall be awarded to a deserving student Mass Communication and Journalism student.
  • Richard and Shirley DeRuiter Scholarship Fund for Future Visionaries Scholarship
    This fund was established by the children of Richard and Shirley DeRuiter in recognition of the impact they have had on our community. With a firm belief in the strength and attributes of our community, Rich & Shirley invited the readers of Scene Magazine to travel with them on a journey to learn about the positive side of living and working right here in Battle Creek. They continue to be strong supporters and believers in helping their neighbors and because of that, want to support the youth of our community as they choose to continue their education right here in our community. Eligible candidates are graduates or graduating seniors from any public or private school within the greater Battle Creek area and Marshall area who seek educational opportunities beyond high school related to the publishing field which could include but not be limited to such careers as: communications, graphic design, art, marketing, English, journalism, history, etc. Applicants must attend a post-secondary institution within greater Battle Creek or Marshall and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Considerations are: demonstrate involvement in programs consistent with the nature of the scholarship.
  • Ruth & Julian Adams Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship is open to **Benton County** high school graduates who are studying journalism at an accredited institution of higher education.
